Appointments at Albury IVF
- You will be asked for your current COVID-19 vaccination status prior to arrival to arrange a suitable appointment for you
- If you are due to attend an appointment at our clinic and you are feeling unwell, or have attended an affected venue, it is important that you contact the clinic prior to attending
- On arrival, you will be asked whether you have any influenza like illness or acute respiratory symptoms such as a cough, shortness of breath or a sore throat
- You will be asked to confirm that you have not attended any affected venues
- If you are well and you have answered “No” to the previous questions, then you will be able to attend your appointment at the clinic.
- If you answer “Yes” to any of the health questions OR you have attended one of the affected venues, we may:
- Provide you with a surgical mask and Department of Health COVID-19 Factsheet
- Advise you to leave the premises and immediately contact your GP or a COVID-19 Screening Service for further testing and assessment.
- Ask you to provide evidence of your COVID-19 negative result before you can return for an appointment.
- Unfortunately, this may mean that on the day your treatment or procedure will be postponed or cancelled
Strategies to help reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission
- Care is being offered remotely as required —phone appointments are available
- Avoiding unnecessary contact to reduce risk— for example you may be asked to wait in your car, or be given digital forms for registration
- Hand sanitiser is provided for use on arrival at the clinic
- Regular cleaning of surfaces and high touch areas is being performed
- Contactless payments are preferable during the pandemic
We kindly ask during this time that you be kind and courteous to our staff, who are working hard behind the scenes to ensure your care is as smooth as possible under the current circumstances.
Fertility treatment, COVID 19 and Vaccination advice
We understand that our patients are feeling confused about the future effects of Coronavirus and the COVID-19 vaccine on their fertility or a pregnancy.
Our recommendations are based on advice from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (RANZCOG) and Australian & New Zealand Society of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
We actively encourage patients to have COVID-19 vaccination prior to and during your fertility treatment unless there is a proven medical indication for exemption. There is no evidence that the vaccine will affect your overall fertility or current treatment, nor a pregnancy.
We do recommend that you plan to have the vaccination prior to commencing fertility treatment. Local hospital protocols may prevent you from being admitted for procedures if you are not fully vaccinated. If you are already in a treatment cycle, try to avoid having the vaccine in the days following ovulation.
